M1 - How do Members of the Site Team Interact with Regard to Health Safety.

 

Criteria - explain how members of the site construction team interact in terms of their health, safety and welfare roles and responsibilities

 

Task - Your MD has asked you to look at three incidents that have happened with the company and advise on what the correct proceedures would be to deal with each one.

 

They need to know:

  1. Who reports to who
  2. Who is responsible for whom.
  3. Who will do what

To help make your report clear you should refer to the company structure below.

 

The three scenarios you have been asked to look at are:

  1. A subcontractor has continually turned up without any PPE, he has had several warnings.
  2. A worker has fallen down a newly built staircase on site. On closer inspection it was found that the drawings for staircase did not comply with building regulations.
  3. A worker has been seriously injured (at least 10 days off work) after falling off the third floor of a construction site, the safety railing gave way allowing them to fall over the edge.

    Upon further investigation it was discovered that the scaffolding company did not employ qualified scaffolders.
